starting when warm

i have a s-reg 2.3 got it about 6 weeks ago now and and it starts first time when its been standing in the snow the wind and the rain how ever once its started and its be driven as soon as you turn it off and then go to start it again it starts and then cuts out ? can anyone tell me why ? what i have to do is start the car and put it into drive as fast as i can so it does not cut out thanks all Mick

dont know about the 2.3's but on the cossies the fule pump relay sitcks (in the aux fuse box) it's possible the 2.3 as the same setup

I had this too with that relay; it'd start ok then cut out at random. I changed it and it was fine; cheapest fix ever. Hope it's as simple as that. Mike

Is there clouds of blue smoke from the exhaust when you cold start it ? Bad hot starting is a sure sign of a worn engine/ poor compression.
