sorry new to this got a realy nice 2.5 diesel every now and then loss of power bit of black smoke feels like shes choking then perfect read all pages on egr valve but im sure ive read some expert say buy a blanking plate and forget it. wot do you scorpio guys think i always listen before i act

Hello I have had simular problems in the past. Havent you tried other methods? Like fuel filter spark plugs? Regards Derek

i've had similar with my td, i disconnected and blanked the egr vacuum pipe, didnt seem to make any difference, but, try cleaning the vacuum pipe from the top of the fuel pump (banjo connection), i think mazzy advised this, mine was full of gunk, made quite a bit of difference, only a 15 min job too.....
