with jonnycab. I cut virtually all my own with the exception of cylinder head gaskets. Have done for years. Nothing to it. Really not difficult, but you MUST use proper gasket paper, due to the heat and water location of the water pump. You can get gasket paper at any motor accessory shop. A set of paper hole punches is useful too. Just trace round the water pump, cut out the shape, and then go from there. There are also some 'gasketless sealants' around, and some are very good.

Hi, if all else fails i have used something called hermatite red in the past when i had the first granadas and it works a treat. It a non setting sealent which is ok to use on water pumps and can take high temps, just an idea if the gasget idea fails.

if its all clean then RTV (silicone) will do fine, in fact thats what most manufacturers use now, no gaskets used on a lot of things.

I doubt very much you will find a new gasket without buying a new pump. They are fairly easy and cheap to make up yourself
