Ignition switch?
Does sound like the battery is flat though, double check it and the connections. Was the battery disconnected?

Opposite end of the ignition barrel from where you put the key in, its under the indicator stalk

Do you get any dash lights at all when you turn the key to position 2?

And when you turn it to start position you get the clicking?

Has he disturbed the PATS module fitted round the ignition lock?. If he did have the battery off has he put the small black lead on. Frequently drops behind the battery and thus car won't start.

surely starter motors out of the equation if there arent any lights on the dash - it has to be something electrical, think changing the starters a bit of a waste of time mate
