Hi,

Thanks for this, and I am trying to contact the said person.

The thread is interesting and it seems as though I'm in for a bit of a bill here.

Hi Peter i had the same problem as mine were leaking and spent ages trying to get some it seemed that most people on the site who were breaking cars eather wanted to keep them rolling or had no idea how to remone them. I tried all the scrappis on the net and finally got a pair which at the time of purchase were fine but in a week at m.o.t time the bottom rubbers had come unbonded from the shockers which meant a failure. i went back to the scrappi and got a refund and then got a new pair from ford parts uk £195.00 each and had to do the job again which is a bit of a pig. The lesson i learnt was unless scrappi part look fairly new best get them from a dealer. the shockers on the estate are self levelling which make them so expensive cheers malcolm

Many thanks for your advise Malcolm, which it seems may be the best course of action.
My car seems pretty good apart from the shockers, they are leaking and rattling like good 'uns!!! Although, it is MOT time in a few weeks so we'll soon see what else they might be able to find to cost me a bit more.
Cheers,
Peter.

I got a pair for my 1995 2.0 estate from FordpartsUK for £385 incl VAT & shipping Shocked, as Just the lower bushings were worn.
I've still got the old ones because I was going to try to replace the bushings with good ones but never got round to it. Wink
If they are the same for the 2.3 (I'd imagine they are) & you're interested in giving at a go, you can PM me with an offer. Smiley
