hi, i have just bought my 3rd scorpio, this one being a 1995 ghia but ive found that i can lock both front doors but cannot unlock them with the red dot key so i have to rely on the plip??. any ideas anyone.. thanks ash..

Any key will lock the doors, but only the correct key will unlock it. I suggest that your car has had a new ignition switch etc fitted and the original key that fitted all the locks too has been lost. Ian

Go to THIS page and read the first two articles. Your best bet would be to replace the two locks with re-build kits set up to match your key.

Yep, could be worn locks or a different key as already mentioned, sort it quickly because one day soon you'll be heading across ASDA car park laden with shopping and that remote battery will be dead... then even if you break a window the car wont start as you wont be able to unlock it to disable the PATS Does your key work in the boot?
