To add to the impression that I have that my Executive stood for a long while and was recommissioned for sale, the metal frame that holds the glass is rotten and the rubber seal is starting to seperate. Can I just change the total fitting easily enough, is it a job that someone with ten thumbs and no mechanical skills could do? Secondly is it easy enough to source a secondhand glass panel or have I stumbled on a known problem and all secondhand bits will have the same problem? Thanks in advance for any advice/pointers. Geoff

Go to THIS page and select the appropriate link. It is a straightforward job. Your best bet is to try and source a replacement on here or from a breaker. It is usual to replace the whole unit I think.

Thanks Simmo! Even I might be able to manage 14 screws and removing the winder handle. I'll keep you informed, it's my first excursion into getting my hands dirty - where will it end Best wishes Geoff

I think you can change the glass bit if you remove the 2 screws on the front of the black trim on the inside of the roof, there at the front, slide it back and you can see the 6 screws, 3each side, that hold it to the slide/tilt mech. I did this on a scrap granada as I needed to replace mine but it was just as rusty as mine, still looking for a good one.
