can anyone help with a radio problem? my radio display has gone blank and the battery has just been replaced so I can't re-enter the code cause I can't see the numbers. Radio is a 7000 RDS model. Anyone give me a clue as to the numbers sequence ie does it start at 1 or 0. Ta

You will need to remove the radio from the car and quote the Serial Number which is usually on a sticker on the back of the unit. If it's from a 7000RDS then it will likely start with an M. Once you post this we can give you a code. If you try to enter 'random codes' the set will lock you out, so best get the Serial Number. Sometimes a previous owner will have put the code in the centre box between the seats, or in the glove compartment or handbook. Worth checking.

hi there the instructions for entering the code are here... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/radio30005000.pdf re the display, this happens every now and then. we think it's mainly down to dampness. take the unit (or the removeable panel) inside overnight and see if that helps. hth

Hi Frank If the radio/car has been standing idle for some time then the display can dissapear, this happned with my radio's. I took the radio out and kept it in a dry place for a couple of days. On refitting the dispay was just clear enough to encode the set and after 3/4 days it became as good as new.
