alarm system

Prior to fitting a new boot the alarm system on my 1995 scorpio didn't work - having fitted the new boot the alarm now goes off after the car has been locked. (The red indicator light inside the car flashes rarely.)
Thanks to this site have found a way to lock the car without the key but would like to tackle the alarm problem - has anyone any ideas please.

hi there
check the bonnet switch. this is a known issue with the alarm.
in the mean time, disconnect the alarm horn just behind the battery.
