Low Coolant Warning,...when it seems full!

OK, new thermostat, repaired rad and new new header tank cap fitted and car is running nice and cool it seems for now. Car is just running water with no collant just to make sure there are no leaks anywhere, if it seems OK for the next couple of days then will remove some water and add coolant. Problem now is that the low coolant warning light is permanently on on the dash! Any ideas? Where is the sensor that detects low coolant? Water in the header tank is at MAX. Have bled the system and heater works nice and hot.

Only the early models had the sensor, and it IS inside the header tank. .. Sounds like the float has stopped working

On the one off my 2ltr, the sensor is mounted in the base of the header tank and I believe it's a twist fit unit, as has been said it may be that it is just stuck, try giving it a wallop it may release it.... pete

Took the car out today and the coolant light went out on it's own and has remained out.
