Intermittant buzzer

Every now and then I get a warning buzzer when opening the drivers door on my wifes 2.9 Giha estate.. This is with no lights or ignition on. Also occasionally the seatbelt warning light comes on for a few minutes then goes off again. The car seems to run OK. I've just cleaned a load of white corrosion from around the battery. the fuse box appears to be clean and dry. Anyone got a clue about this? regards Iain

Hi Yes I get that sometimes when I open the drivers door the buzzer goes of, just move the gear lever a little its stops, I take it there is a switch that is being over ridden.

Should have said that this is an automatic. Does this still apply? Any clues about the intermittant seatbelt light? Iain

Yes it applies to the automatics. Usually find that you haven't pushed it fully up into P. Not sure about the seatbelt warning light issue.

The sensor for the 'in gear' warning is shown Here. (transmission range sensor). As for the seat belt light have you tried checking out the connectors under the seat as they can be disturbed by the feet of rear seat passengers etc.

woops!!! It's not the seatbelt light - it's the airbag light. Comes on intermitantly for a few minutes then goes off. Does not flash. Iain
