You're not engaging overdrive . O/D normally drops in at about 50mph, revs at 70mph should be around 2800 in the 2.0 I think. Is the autobox behaving ok otherwise? I remember you saying in another thread that you've cleaned the MAF. Regards, Bruce.

Wont harm it, really its like driving a manual car in third everywhere but it will kill your fuel consumption.. Vehicles speed sensor ok? does the speedo act funny at times?

If i remember rightly 50 mph should be about 2000 or under. And i seem to remember 4000rpm is about 90 mph. Can`t remember what 110mph is though, was too busy looking at the road Jamie

As far as i know this is a symptom that the battery or alternator is failing, however don't think is related to the autobox problem.

Yeah. That's classic weak battery stuff . Regarding your fault, if the speedo is working ok it sounds like loom damage, I remember reading that some DOHC Scorps suffered autobox loom damage, looked into it when I had my problems. Might be worth getting someone to check where the loom snakes around the autobox and the main connector to it.
