DRUMING NOT CENTRE BEARING

Hi all you may have seen my earlier message,
I have a drumming that seems to come from the centre of the car it is always present and increases with speed some light vibration can be felt in the floor this also increases with speed as it did seam to have the symptoms of a worn centre bearing I took it to our local prop shaft specialist who did find some ware but not  a lot at my request they replaced the centre bearing. They also examined the donut and said it was fine as they said the noise I described could be a bearing going somewhere we looked at the bearing on the diff before refitting the prop shaft, we found no apparent wear there either. We refitted the prop shaft and gave it a road test. Although the condition was a little better the problem was still present, we checked the diff oil it was normal and we topped it up to the hole. The noise dose seem to be o the shaft or the diff there were a few iron filings  on the diff plug and a little grey looking sludge but after cleaning and examining the plug again two days later no further fillings or grey sludge was found. We felt that the back part of the propshaft may have been replaced at some time and even wondered if it had been changed we looked at the service history for the car but found no record of this. So folks I would be pleased to recive any suggestions as it’s a case of where do I go from hereHuhHuhHuh??

As JC said the bolts have to be fitted in the correct order to maintain balance, it could be that someone in the past has had the prop shaft off and not checked it, or could have had a replacement shaft on, who knows?
Given that it is the original shaft, and balance is the problem, I think the only way to sort it would be to swap the bolts in sequence until you get the optimum result.  A lot of messing about, but if this is the problem it could save lots in the future.... Unless anyone else knows different....
