trip computer display keeps resetting?

hi, my trip computer display keeps going back to kmh and goes back to 0 on the mileometer after each time i use the car ? how do i get it to stay on mph/mpg?.. thanks again..

First, Check & clean fuses F16 & 17, who protect the instrument cluster. Carefully prise out Mode switch while pushing it from under dash towards you and check & clean connector, jack and wiring. If not succesful: Depress Mileage reset button on instrument cluster for 10 secs; then step to 'button' and check readings. If out of range, remove fascia dismount instrument cluster and clean all of its three connectors + jacks at the back. Allow 2-3 hours for job. Replace any instrument lamps while you are at it and don't forget to buy them beforehand; there's about 10 of them in two types! Worked in my case! Ray

If you think your battery is suspect - then your charging circuit & diodes are suspect too. Do not just change your battery - make sure it is being properly charged - or you will end up changing it again. Ray
