Possibly pringle switch or the selector isnt fully in Park or Neutral? Try moving the selector next time it happens and trying it in N instead of P

I had the same problem. In total, had it towed three times. Had it serviced by official dealer Kindwalls Ford. They changed the fuse boxes. Cost around £500. Problem went away. Came back after 3 months. They changed some chip in the autobox, I believe. Not cheap. 2 months later it was back. In the end they took it back in, did something (I don't know what), and it worked fine for 6-7 months. Then it all started again. It almost always happened when the engine and the climate was warm. Finally I went to a local garage who worked on it for a day. It turns out it was electrical wires in the engine compartment where the isolation on the wires had gone due to physical wear. Exchanged them, and it's never happened again for the past year or so.
