I have had my scorpio for a few months now and when i have used my sunroof i have always just used the slide function but the other day i thought i would use the tilt function but nothing. When i use the electric switch for the slide function it makes all the right noises but when it comes to the tilt i hear nothing. So befor i start pulling parts out or buying replacement bits for it should i be looking at the motor or the switch or the wiring...many thanks.

You say it 'makes all the right noises' but does it actually work?. Have a read of THIS page and the links on the left. Is there any sign of water ingress,ie: stains on the headlining?.

sorry when i say it makes all the noises i mean when i use the switch you can hear the motor open and close the sunroof without any problem but when i push the switch to use the tilt option i hear nothing the sunroof just wont tilt but the slide works ok.There is no rust around the sunroof area or water and i well lubricated all the bits shown on the link.

I have the same problem...the only way I've found to get mine to tilt is to physically push the sunroof up when pushing the button. It seems to be that the seal is getting stuck on the edge, but once it's clear then the button works the tilt function fine
