can anybody help to idendify the wiring for the rev counter, ive checked everything and it must be a wiring fault so i need to find where the wiring goes and what colours the wires are, ive replaced the rev counter, checked everything i can think of but no joy, im sure someone can tell me which wires/colours , or where it gets its feed from many thanks

Afaik the rev counter is controled by the ecu which recieves a signal from the cps (crankshaft position sensor) which I believe is mounted somewhere near the bottom of the engine.... I may be wrong but if you do a search on the site you should be able to find the information. hth pete

And iirc, the car won't start without a signal from the cps, so the problem must lie between the ECU and the dash board somewhere.

sorry forgot to put 2.9 12v so no crank sensor all runs ok just no rev counter

The 12v Rev Counter picks up the pulses for the rev counter from the coil low tension side wiring if that is of any help.
