Hi - You don't say which motor you have and I'm not sure whether the 900 is in park, neutral or drive. If this is in park or neutral then 900 is only marginally high. My 2.3 sits at 850 kerbside (neutral or park) or 750 at ligfhts etc in drive.

Also this weather if using air can cause fluctuations at stop as the compressor cuts in and out. If it blips but does not stall then I would not worry too much. Have it checked by an Auto electrician.

Good luck

Check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum pipe....if it's disconnected or split then this will cause the car to idle at a higher rpm  Smiley

Hi, I'm not entirely sure about the 2.9 12V as I'm a 2.3 owner, but I'll have a guess....

It should be mounted at the end of the fuel rail & have two pipes, one is the fuel return pipe that goes back to the tank & the other is the vacuum pipe which should go to the throttle body. This is the one to check  Smiley

Hope this helps  Smiley
