Can anybody tell me if they have fitted 18" alloys to there car. Looking to get a set of 18" for my 1994 ford granada ghia. However nobody including ford can advise if they will fit or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

They probably will, but you'd have to use ultra low profile tyres aka elastic bands, I have 17" wheels with 40 profiles and I've noticed some slight scuffing of the edge of the rear tyres due to light contact with the wheel arch when I have rear passengers (ok you lot, get out and walk Wink ).

Any decent tyre fitting company should be able to advise you whether they will fit and what tyres you would need to use...

Hi v4, and you don't get any scuffing? Do you have any empty boot? No passengers? Perhaps I need to check my rear suspension then...

The standard wheels are 205/60/15.

If you put your hand on top of tyre there is about 20mm space before tyre hits underneath of spring/strut.

If you measure across whole of wheel with tape measure it seems you could fit 18" WITH 40mm sidewall and have more room to spare than standard wheel. However thats me with tape measure.

Also some sites that sell alloys say from 94 on the wheels are 108 pitch and others its 112. Using a tape it looks like 108 but not really sure.

Found a wheel calculator that says i should be able to fit 18" based on existing tyre size info.

205/60/15 (627mm Dia) upgraded to 215/40/18 (629mm Dia)

I have 19's on my Scorp and my Brother has 18's on his 85 mk3 Scorpio, both fit with no mods but he has uprated the front springs due to them being a bit old and worn.
It is all to do with the offset of the wheel not just the tyre size as that also affects the rolling radius, If you use a tyre size calculator make sure you use a couple as one may not be accurate Wink
