ABS PROBLEM?

My Scorpio has developed a slight problem. The Abs light came on at about 100mph and remained on, the braking didnt seem impaired (suppose cos i didnt have to sling the anchors on fast) When i stopped and turned the engine off and restarted it after about five minutes...the abs light DID NOT COME ON. However when driving the brakes seemed ok until I was slowing from about 15mph to stop..then the brake felt like the ABS was kicking in..sending pulses through the foot pedal... Could anybody recognise the signs /symptoms pls Thank you

Similar thing happened to me. I wasn't doing 100mph though! I had the front ABS sensors cleaned and touching the greatest piece of walnut, It has not come on since. Try that, might work?

There are two possible faults indicated by the ABS... 1. Light comes on when you turn the ignition on and stays on - that indicates that you have an static ABS fault, one which shows up without the wheels even turning. Faults which appear at initial switch on as it goes through its diagnostics. 2. Lights comes on as you turn ignition on, goes out then comes back on as you exceed 15mph - this indicates a dynamic ABS fault. 1. Most often a fault with the controller or an open or short circuit wheel sensor. 2. Is usually a problem with the disk for the sensor at the wheel. Magnetic dirt trapped on the cogged disk, or a cracked disk. If stays on sometimes, but not others - possibly a poor connection to the sensor or damp entering the sensor connectors, which are located at the back of the wheel. ABS diagnostics would help narrow it down.
