Hi suggestions very welcome, the car is a 2.3 and has been  been running faultlessly of late, this morning when I turned on the ignition all I am getting is a series of clicks and no engine turn over, lights and fans work ok, can I ask is this a normal low battery fault or should I be investigating elsewere.

do all your dials go up and down when you try to start it? if so then flat battery. if not would suggest dodgy solenoid or starter motor. allso if auto check to see if lever is in park properly.

if you hold down the trip reset for a while, you will get a readout on the dash. press it again til you get to batt, will show you the volts in the battery

hi there

does sound like the starter. Sad
have you noticed a slight delay in the starter operating? just a fraction of a second. you'd turn the key and then the starter worked, not as you turn the key, if that makes sense. Wink
has the same problem earlier this year.

Thanks guys for your suggestions I have just checked Battery reading on the panel and it reads 9.2 I know it should read 13.5 would this reading be enough to cause this non starting problem?

Yes, definitely. Even with ideal circuitry the starter would have less than 50% of power at 9.2 Volt. But I assume the internal battery resistance is so high that any additional current will tear the voltage far lower. I think a new battery will be necessary.

yep, either a drain on the battery or the battery has failed (the latter more likely if everything is working, batteries tend to fail when the cold hits)
