check that you have not missed off anything, the sensor above the aircon pump near timing chain is most likely the cause.

Hi if you have had the battery disconnected its worth checking that all the wires are back on as sometimes one can be missed very easily causing all sorts of problems regards malcolm

| One Way is to Lift bonnet and put finger on the spring loaded button to simulate closed bonnet. using keyfob activate door locking and wait for pats system to activate (10 seconds or so) then simply remove finger as to simulate bonnet being opened, alarm should then activate.... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/electrical/antitheft/alarmbonnetsw.p df hth Pete

Check the fuel cut off switch located on the boot slam plate left of the catch. It's a red button which is designed to cut fuel by an inertia switch in the case of a crash.... can sometimes go off willy nilly... Pete

This could also be caused by a problem with the signal from the ECU to the Fuel Pump Relay. This signal provides a 12 volt supply to the pump safety switch and then to the pump. This signal is provided from the EDIS unit to the ECU (black and white wire) and can be checked as follows: - Pin 1 EDIS to Pin 48 PCM (ECU) - black and white A four channel scope Channel 1 EDIS positive - Ignition feed Channel 2 EDIS ground Channel 3 PIP signal Channel 4 Crankshaft Sensor good luck Alastair

Hi there! Check the fuel cut off switch to start with as Pete says. You can tap it sharply with a rubber screwdriver end or with something else, but don't go hammering it with a force. It should pop up when tapped, then press it in again. You can do that a few times around to make sure it's not sticking. Having had the same problem in my 24V to 16V lump swap, I could give you some other pointers: 1) Check the battery junction fusebox, turn on the ignition and wiggle relay No. R17 ( See this link: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/battery_fusebox.gif ) If there is a faulty connection in it and it's not that rotten, you should hear the fuel pump activating. 2) Check the fuses in the battery junction box with a multimeter, or you may even construct a lead with a 12v lightbulb to find out if there's power to the fuses No. 42, 33, 34, 37 etc.. At least all these have something to do with starting. 3) When you turn on the ignition, is the alarm/pats led glowing for about 5 secs and then going crazy, blinking like a madman and after about 20 - 30sec, settling to show an error blinkage (one flash, pause more flashes, pause ... ). If this happens it's a pats related problem -> PM me and I'll tell you how to get rid of that (Thanks to KIMI! ) I had a rotten aux. fusebox which had worked just well until I started my engine swap project. Gave me a lot of headache before I realised that it was actually failing. It is not very hard to take it out and have a look inside and underneath it. There are a lot of leads and plugs, but they are idiotproof - you cannot insert them into wrong places. So you can safely disconnect them. It's not a nice task, but then you know if you have a fusebox problem. My alarm never worked before I changed the fusebox. I always thought that "funny, there's deadlock, but no alarm" because the led never started blinking when I closed the doors and set the deadlock etc. Now it works. After swapping the fusebox! Granny's auxbox will do the job if it is at least -93 or newer. i changed mine from a breaking project granny. It happened to have a new box! (I wonder why... )
