Hi

im guessing your car did not have front fog light originally and you have fitted them,

first, have you got the correct headlight switch, i.e. does it pull out 2 notches (front fogs first then rear fogs)

Next, you will need to fit the front fog light relay into the main fuse box (see your owners manual) you also need to install a relay in the cabin just under the steering wheel (again see the owners hand book)

Hi Slipknot
let me know how you get on (a couple of photos would be great). I have front fogs lying on the bench and am just about to get on with the fitting.

Hi Matt
where about in the manual for the additional relays, please, I was kind of hoping that as some cars were fitted with front fogs as standard, the wiring / relays would be tucked away somewhere

Thanks guys

Hello Matt!
Yes, i fitted the correct switch, and the panel too... it notches 2 times and each time starts to burn one indicator for fog lights, first front and te the back.

What is that relay under the steering wheel, how does it looks and how can easyly identify it? Sorry, but i don't have the owners book Sad

to Alastair: You have to wait a lil' bit, sorry i don't have the camera at the  time....but i'll make them.

The handbook is on the site HERE. Relay 35 which is white and listed as 'underneath the instrument panel' controls the front fog lights. When you select a page from the handbook if you click on the bottom right hand corner the page will enlarge.  Smiley

My guess would be that 'under the instrument panel' means tucked up above the trim panel above your feet/shins as you drive. There is a tray there containing the cruise control plus other bits and this would be a sensible place for it.

Another way to be certain you have found the correct socket, would be to check the ciruit diagram for the wire colour codes leading into R35's socket. I think I correct in suggesting that any white Ford relay will do.

I can't think of any good reason for any of the fog light wiring to to be under the steering wheel or in the column.
