Smoke coming into cabin?

Hi this seems an odd problem. I have noticed smoke coming into the cabin of my scorpio cosworth twice now it only appears to be coming in the drivers side air vent. It seems odd to me but any help would be great. Huh

Thank you

What kind of burning ?...electrical, plastic etc  Smiley

If electrical, then does it only happen when a certain button is pressed ?

The first time it did it was the same time my gearbox started to slip on the belt so I put it down to that. I have just had a second hand box fitted and it has just done it again today. I pressed no buttons the only thing I had been doing prior was bonnet up and slightly revving the engine because I think the exhaust might be blowing at the front end. As for the smell it was very slight and difficult to tell what sort of burning it is.

Dirt on the heatsink of the HBC could be burning off - think it gets quite hot.
Maybe worth taking it out and cleaning it.

Mine does it quite a lot. You can see it in bright sunlight. The one I had before did it too but I have never really looked into it. Mike may be right with the dirt thing as there is very little of an electrical nature which is actually inside the vent system

Dirty pollen filters ?.... or light dust inside the vent system burning off when heater is on ?...

...Or maybe a bit of burning oil or evapourating condensation from engine block  Smiley

...Or maybe even smoke from outside the vehicle...other vehicle, bonfire, someone smoking a large Cuban cigar  Wink

I'm all out of daft theories now  Grin
