locking wheel nuts.

any ideas on removing over tightened locking nuts,,,,,,,,,  so far i have sheared 2 keys.
 
the make of lock is astrali.
 
have tried lots of wd40, brute force but to no
avail   Sad

You may be able to hammer a impact socket over it, if theres room and get them off that way. I have done it that way.

You MOst likely need and air hammer to loosen it or even try and IMPACT wrench to loosen it .

have just tried an impact socket with no joy,
 
looks like the trusty old hammer and chisel
will now come into play.......will wait till the
rain goes off.

I had to take mine to a garage that used one to take one of mine off so they could change the tyre for the mot - the place I went charged £5 a wheel, but it only took him a minute to take it off - was well worth the money

Ah yes ,the "Gator grip " socket,a very handy thing to have in the toolbox.you could also use a wide drift & a BIG hammer on the surface face of the nut.A couple of heavy blows may break the thread lock that it has created for itself.(Impact guns cant give as much force as a 14llb hammer) Grin Grin

have tried lots of things now and am fast running out of the will to live,,lol
my locking nut has a flat surface with four slots that a thing like a  
castlated nut would slot into ....and as the book says just twist....
 
i have now sheared the original and two replacements  at £15.60 a  
pop its starting to get on my you know whats. Sad Angry
