The Clocks dancing on start up a sure sign that your battery is about to give up...
The scorpio takes a LOT of power to get it started and if it falls below a certain voltage then the whole system resets..... The ecu will go into learn mode after a reset which is MOST likely why it feels sluggish.

Get a NEW 75amph battery and then see after a few days if it gets any better...

Details of how to change the battery are HERE

I'll just add to the above, in that the same can happen if despite being good, it happens to be a bit low on its charge. Mine does it if the car has been left for some time unused.

hi there

if you're not using you're car to often, a solar panel charger is a good idea.

OK Yo say the battery is fully charged and it only happens after a LONG run.... Suggest you check the output of the alternator then make sure it IS charging correctly.
You could also check the voltage of the battery when cranking by going into the dash board diagnostics ..... by holding the reset button for 10 secs then pressing until you get to voltage ... kae a not of the voltages when NO load.... when cranking anf when the engine is running .
But JUST becasue the battery is 6mths old does NOT mean it could not be a fault...
What size is the battery .. is it a BIG one ( capacity )
the dash reset is HEReif you need it
