Hi All,

Thanks for the recent help and advice about the missfire problem.

I've run out of things I can do on my own. Garage that I use cannot fit in for 10 days and others even longer wait. I need transport due to my health so looks like the scorp will have to go. Pitty as I fell that it's a great motor. But no good if I can't use it.

If I get some luck and get it sorted I'll let you know but in honesty I'm not in a possition to wait 10 days plus.

Thanks ,  Chris.

In your first post you wrote this....

...."Hi All,.....Scorp has been running o.k. until last night. Started first time but was running rough, like missfire. Thought might be because of damp evening so let engine get to temp. but still running rough. Removed cover to coil pack area and could not see any signs of tracking while engine was running.
Today have replaced spark plugs, but no change. Have tried running engine with each H.T. lead removed but this just makes it worse. So guess plugs etc should be o.k. All old plugs were medium brown inner and slightly dark to outer.  I also have noticed a faint smell of petrol while doing this, have not noticed this previously.
Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this."

Have you changed the coil packs to see if it makes a difference, as they do have a tendency (when they're old) to break down, especially under load.

....Also the faint smell of petrol/rough running could be down to a dodgy IACV (Idle air control valve), faulty injector(s), or faulty fuel pressure regulator  Smiley

Hope this helps  Smiley

P.S....You're not too far away from me, so I could have a look at it for you....PM sent  Wink
