There is a couple of connectors on the right hand side of the fusebox (when looking backwards) and they end in a big connector on the left hand side of the engine (when looking the same way). Atleast they do on my 2.0 16v manual, and I believe the 2.3 is almost identical. The easiest way is to crawl underneath and trace the loom from the gearbox end.

Ok How about finding a friend that isn't afraid of getting his or her hands oily and trace it from both ends? It shouldn't be THAT difficult to trace if you got enough light.
