all windows opening randomly

Hi suspect this is down to wet loom or damp fusebox. Went out to car and about to start it up and all the windows opened including the sunroof, speedo dials travelled full rotation. Its done this twice now and my guess is its rain related but anyone point me to what locations to check first? Its just sailed through MOT

Have you got a battery cover fitted?. The auxillary fusebox is the likely area. Are the drain holes to the bulkhead clear, is there any sign of water in the passenger footwell?. The dials flying round is a sign of battery problems. Have a look at THIS page which shows how to remove the battery panel etc. Make sure the area around the main, drivers side, fusebox is clear and the holes in the bulkhead clear. The panel that side is fixed. If the auxillary fusebox gets water round it it will run back into the car through a large grommet on the bulkhead and can drip on the ECU etc which sits behind the passenger glove box, hence water in the passenger footwell.

If the window opening is all neat and in sequence, could it be the global opening system being triggered? Front windows, then back windows, then sun roof - I think is the order of operation. That might indicate the door lock switch has a short across it.

Harry,(As usual) !! , has a good point and if you follow his thinking it would point to the drivers side fuse-box where fuses 25,26 and 28 cover the windows and the sunroof. Fuse no.22 covers the door locking modules.
