Hi there

Long time no see  Grin
I have a problem ...yes another... with my cossie. The speed sensitive steering is too sensitive. Regardless of the speed, the steering rack (almost new) moves as easily as in parking speeds. It's very annoying and dangerous to have it so at over 100 mph  Roll Eyes

I have searched on the main forum, found some descrption of the system (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/powersteering.htm) but i'm asking if anyone had this problem and how did he get it fixed.

Thanks

VSS [Vehicle Speed Sensor] has a lot to do with this - located around the gearbox it job is to relate speed to control. the faster you go the less assistance you will get from the PAS system and visa versa.
from...

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/steering/PASDescript.pdf

The Servotronic power steering system fitted to
the Scorpio V6 24V incorporates a module
located behind the fuse/relay box and an
actuator fitted to the steering gear valve body.
The module receives signals from the speed
sensor and depending upon the vehicle speed
activates the actuator to increase or decrease
the fluid pressure to create high or low steering
efforts.
