ive just bought a scorpio and theres a problem with the auto box. Its an 2.3 ghia auto on an R plate. The gearbox engages but it slips out when you try to accelerate anything more than extremely gently. This makes hill starts very tricky! Any ideas to get it running for a while?

Hi Have you checked the box fluid level? What is the colour of the fluid is it clean and red or smelly and black? Try a oil and filter change and se if that helps.

clean the maf its very easy i did it worked wonders but my box fluid was low and old , it was like water and you could hear the turbine whine a filter change and fluid change wont do any harm with age the fluid loses its consistency as it gets hot it gets thinner and wont do the job its intended for good luck
