Misfire of some kind maybe? Could be a million things, would help to have a bit more info like how was it running before etc.

Holding back under load? Again, is it a kind of misfire, hesitation or just listless?

What was the lambda value on the MOT?

Had any OBD codes read yet? If it's a fuel issue it'll be running lean and that'll show on the OBD Smiley.

Regards, Bruce.

You said that you replaced the coil packs.... were they new ones or second hand ?

Also......did you replace the two HT plug leads as well ?  Smiley

Was it an entire new engine loom? Double check everything is connected ok, worth pulling the plugs and putting them back snug just to make sure. Also double check coilpacks as Jonny said, the windings sometimes break down under load and cause a misfire. Could even possibly be a lazy injector, mine used to have a bad misfire if left standing for a week, never solved it but with hindsight I reckon it was a sticking injector pintle that freed up when hot.

How was it running before the work? An OBD scan would be the best thing now, you really need some fuel trims and things, you're working blind without any info from the engine, you could replace half the d**n engine and still have the problem Sad

Good luck.
