They're not LED's, they're just small bulbs and yes, you can just replace the bulbs. Should be three of them - replce the one that isn't working. Getting out the CC panel is trick though! I'll try an find the link detailing the removal of the CC panel.

Thanks Amigafan 2003, the one I'm in need of is the one just above the 'up-down' temperature buttons which are alfanumeric.

It's The LED, not all the segments are working.

if it's the display you mean and it doesn't show part of the numbers then you need to change the display which is kinda tricky but not impossible. The best thing you could do is change the whole pannel. Alex

Hi, I'm back again! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think LED 'Light emitting diode' is the backlit one - and LCD 'Liquid crystal display' is the brightly self lit alphanumerals? Somone please let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks, Jim (Landscaper)

well lemme explain something to you. there is NO LED in that CC control, you have 3 light bulbs that light the dials, buttons and also the LCD displays (yes, thos with digital numbers). so if you have missing digits or part of digits, you need to change the display or better off the whole CC control. if you just don't have any back light, then you need to replace the corresponding light bulb. there are NO LEDs

| LED displays are the ones where the actual segment of the digit lights up. They need no backlighting or extra illumination at all, but can be difficult to read when the natural (sun) light level is high. LCD's are the ones where the background is usually a silver colour and when turned on the segments just darken. These are the one which are easy to read even in the strongest of sunlight. They produce no light of their own, so do need to be illuminated to be able to read them in the dark - either an LED, bulb, or electroluminescent panel at the back of the LCD. LCD's are the type of display used in the panels of the speedo and tacho.

One thing to note, if you do change the entire panel then you will need to reprogramme the Climate Control (documented elswhere on the Scorpio site - and easy to do) However, try the panel first if you can (before you pay for it) because if the tolerance of the pots used on the PCB in the new panel are very different from the pots in the panel you replaced, it maybe that you cant even turn the motor control switch to OFF in the first place, which you need to do to reprogramme the CC. Catch 22? However, the reprogramming method (if you ever get into it) also programs the CC to your panel and the variable resitors and positions used within it, for OFF, Auto, etc. This happened to me and there is a method to even get over this problem, but I will not document it here. Just let me know if you have this problem....One step at a time
