Just had a burst heater hose on my trusty 2.3 ultima. Need to know if this is a common problem, or should I be checking for any other cooling based problems. There doesnt seem to be anythying apparently wrong at the moment. Maybe I`m just being paranoid.

your not being paranoid, never forget its a scorpio. having said that all rubber pipes have a shelf life, they do tend to rot after awhile.and seing as all our cars are at least 10yrs old i would expect more failures in the not to distant future. i am currently trying to source a set of braided hoses, so i have them ready for when the time comes, have'nt found any yet though.
