facelift 2.5td

hi just bought a facelift 2.5td ghia and i am well pleased so far just a couple of questions please 1. i sometimes hear a slight knocking over uneven ground comming from the center or rear of the car ? 2. when i pull up sometimes at a junction the idle is raised for a second or 2 then settles? 3 ihave just bought some alloys of an ultima but the bolts on my steelwheels look a bit small what do i need to fit them and where can i get them hope you guys can help great forum sivy

Hello and welcome to the forum..... with regards to your questions.... the knocking could be any of a number of things; the favourite is usually the front suspension bushes or drop links which are not too expensive to replace. with regards to the alloys, you will need to get nuts to fit them with. The nuts on your Ghia Steel wheels will not suffice. You need proper alloy wheel ones. Someone on here should have some

as for the the idle at junctions, is yours one of the rare auto models? if so is it just the auto box changing down gear? gotta go out now but i might have a set of spare alloy nuts with locking nut and tool, remind me later and i'll have a look.....

thanks for the reply guys . mines a manual if i blip the revs and take foot off quickly the revs come down to 1200 for a sec then settle to 900 is this normal? can i get the alloy nuts from halfords if so what size are they cant wait to get it sorted thanks again guys sivy ps any good garages up in the midlands recommend who know about scorpios

It would probably be cheaper to get some alloy nuts from a breaker.
