hot and cold

as i was driving on the motorway i noticed the temp gauge suddenly drop it was in the middle round town then as i drove faster it dropped to just over the blu at the same time the od light came on and the gearbox got erratic when i got home turned everything off then on the light had gone off once it had cooled down the auto box was normal again

stevie. Try changing your temp sender unit,although that wont affect the gearbox.It may be coincidence that two faults appeared together,or tatty wiring. GOZZ

The low temp guage on the motorway & normal in town probably means the thermostat is stuck open
