I haven't done a sump gasket on a VM diesel but have done one on a GM petrol engine. Gasket replacement is straightforward, but you may need to drop the cross member or raise the engine to give clearance to remove the sump - either will need some method of supporting the engine. You should be able to get the gasket from Ford, Vauxhall and Jeep as all of them have used this engine in their own vehicles. Darren
