Can anyone tell me what happened to this item?? Source: History http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/aboutus.htm April 2005 - Work continues on investigating the cause of timing chain failures on the 24V engine with prototype replacement tensioners being built and tested in Sweden and replacement tensioner blades being tested here in the UK. Hopefully higher quality parts will be available soon to alleviate this major headache for 24V owners. I am about to sell my car as ownership is getting a little prohibitive in this 21st Century and I would like to pass on info about these timing chain tensioners. The general concensus of opinion at the recent Harewood House get together was " Don't worry about it the engine sounds fine to us " But being as I am a bit of a perfectionist as well as an engineer [although not motor may I add] I am still on the look out for more detailed information on why and what causes these bad rattles. Any further information would be well received I see that 'Jack' has these for sale at a decent price... http://www.jackscarparts.co.uk/ford-scorpio-cosworth-chain-tensioners-p- 835.html Thanks in anticipation grandadman

Well as someone who uses second hand parts whenever possible, including discs, pads, tyres, exhausts cats, even petrol!! i would NEVER use second hand chain tensioners, its a big enough job to do once never mind twice i dont think theyre too expensive new are they??
