hi there

as you might know, i had to get a new head fitted to my car after harewood. Wink

here's the problem. every time you drive it and them stop, all the coolant comes out the overflow pipe.

everything's clean of oil, etc.

i'm thinking waterpump. what do you think?

i should add that it doesn't overheat (using the dash gauge).

cheers

May just be an airlock, they can be quite tricky to shift.
When I changed my coolant I flushed it through then filled it 3 times with water, drove round the block & then emptied it. No problem the first 2 times but the 3rd time I could hear it bubbling in the block/head, when I took the rad cap off it blew half the water out (the water wasn’t very hot just the expanded air pushing it out).
After that when I drained it again & put the fresh coolant in I just couldn’t completely shift the airlock (I’d sometimes hear it singing in the block after a long run), in the end I fitted an air valve in the heater hose.

Andrew, How about trying the patent 'Jonnycab' transparent hose method?  Wink. If I remember correctly it took a bit of work to get the air out after the repair at Harewood. Good luck, Mike. Smiley

then there's a problem with one of the guys who was fitting the new head. the boss/owner has now taking over the job. hopefully not too long now as if i'd know it was going to go this way, i'd have scrapped it. simple as that. Angry

and i'm getting it in the ear from the wife as i've got her car most of the time! Roll Eyes ROFL
