Noticed over the past few days the autobox seems a bit reluctant to kick down when the accelerator is floored. It drops down one gear but no more and going up a long hill does not pull like it used to.

Does not seem to do it all the time though.

I cleaned the MAF quite recently.

Car has done 133k and gear changes are smooth.

Any ideas ?

Before suspecting the autobox, check that the throttle cable hasn't stretched causing the throttle not to open fully when floored.

Get someone to floor it (engine off) & check the gap between the throttle plastic quadrant & the throttle body stop. It should be close but not quite touching. If the gap is too big then adjust the cable one notch at a time until it's closer to the stop.

This made a hell of a lot of difference to my autobox gear changes & acceleration  Smiley

Rather embarrassing - I think the floormat had worked its way up behind the accelerator pedal and was stopping it going right down to the floor  Embarassed
All fine now.

Your not alone.

Every Scorp I've ever bought (5), the previous owners have always had a drivers front floor mat.

Every Scorp I've ever OWNED has had the mat thrown away for exactly this reason !

My facelift doesn't have this feature, but my wifes pre-facelift does......2 retaining clips in the carpet (just in front of the seat) that go through the mat & holds it in place.

Does anyone else have these ?  Smiley
