Replacement rear arches?

Hello, Ive just bought a 1995 estate scorpio, but one of the arches has some rust in it, at the time I wasnt worried as was prepared to replace it, but Ive since found it is very difficult to get a replacement. Ford only do the rear ¼ for over £300 and my local factors don't do an aftermarket one. The rest of the car is really tidy, everything works and is fairly low mileage so I am still keen to replace it. Does anyone know where to get some or know of any car with similar arches that can be used? Cheers Phil.

Hi Phil, You may have answered your own question, How about finding one in a scrappy and taking the arches off that? If you can find some thats not too bad you could always take the paint etc right back and make sure any rust is well treated before you get them fitted. That said I am sure there was mention a while ago of replacement pannels showing up on ebay occasionally.

pipinhispop. I hope I've spelt your name right ! it could easily be misconstrued. You should have a look at your nearest replacement panel factor, who should be able to supply you with pattern parts.Look under car body panels. GOZZ.

http://www.beeversautopanels.co.uk/ This company sell rear wheel arch repair panels for the MK 3 Granada / Scorpio range although they are for the saloon - at just over a tenner each they may be worth a try. Seem to recall hearing from someone that although they are not a perfect match the parts are a good basis to work from - some minor modification required.

Scorpio Mike you are quite correct , someone fitted some Mk3 Chrome ones and they fitted very well and required some very minor modification .

| I did fit a set of the chrome arch 'covers' I treated the rust first and then hid it with the chrome arches. As for fitting, the fronts needed no modification and the rears neaded cutting slightly to fit where the arch meets the bumper. I didn't mention this earlier as I thought Phil was looking for weld in pannels. Edit, Just found these on ebay they look the same as the ones I used item number 140259142451

Many thanks for the suggestions, I like the chrome arches idea most at the moment as thats a nice quick fix, then look out for a good arch on a scrapper in the meantime for a longer term solution. Cheers Phil.
