One flash of the airbag light?

Does anyone know what one flash of the airbag light means, it flash's than stays off about 10secs, comes on and flashs than comes on again and so on? I have taken the steering wheel off and cleaned the connections up and and sprayed electrical cleaner and WD40 in the clock spring becuase it was coming on dimly sometimes. Now there is a definite pattern to the flashes since I've taken it apart. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Danny.

When my car was doing this it was the connection on the airbag on the steering wheel. Someone posted that it only goes on one way (can't remember who, sorry) as it can foul on a casting on the steering wheel and knock itself off. I turned mine around and it's been fine since Cheers Jim

It was Tompion who posted that advice. If it is on the wrong way it can foul the horn mechanism and become loose. Details HERE

Thanks very much for your replies. It was as stated. Even though the plug will fit both ways one way it fouls and falls off when you place it in the steering wheel. Another problem sorted. Thanks again. Danny.

TIS says that it is useful to put the wire as described there accordingly in order not to have this problem emerging in the future. One I had this problem ocurring as I smashed the horn...
