Retro fitting cruise control

I am in the process of fitting cruise control to my 1995 Scorpio. As its a lower spec model it wasn't fitted from factory so for ease of fitting I thought the best way would be to use the set up from my old MK 3.
I've fitted the vacuum pump and operating vacuum control, but when I fitted the steering wheel I found all the wires were already in place and the brake pedal switch wiring was all in the connector, just needed the bit of loom to join it up. I have also noticed what looks like a stepper motor in line with the throttle linkage just to the right rear of the radiator, but only has 3 wires to it.
So I am now thinking is it just a case of telling the ecu that I want cruise control to work like some other modern cars are.
So before I go ahead and drill the pedal switch mount to take the vacuum release/brake cut off switch does anybody know what's involved in retro fitting correct cruise control?

hi there

this stepper motor; is it on the driver's side or passenger side? if n/s, that's the traction control motor.

Ar, yeah its on the n/s that makes sense it being the traction control one.

I am going to commit myself to the job of fitting the earlier vacuum operated system tonight and drill the pedal to take the vacuum switch. Unfortunately the existing hole in the pedal is too small and the wrong shape.

The next problem Ill have is finding a suitably close VSS wire..
