Hiya i just bought a 2.0 16v scorpio but the key was spinning in the holder. I fixed this with filler (The strongest stuff i could get my hands on). The thing is i dont have a key fob so i locked the car with the key last night from the passenger door as the drivers lock wouldnt work. This morning the car wont unlock with the key from either side. will i have to smash a window or is there a more cost effective way? Please help.

Common problem I'm afraid. Doors will lock with the key but not unlock. If you have a spare key that is less worn I'm sure that will unlock the car

If you have the red master key then Ford can cut you a new coded key for £20.00, which will allow you to open the door & start the car. If you don't have the red master key then they can cut you a plain (uncoded) key for £10, but this will only open the doors That's assuming the door locks themselves aren't worn P.S...welcome to the site

If all else fails then contact me off site via email or private message. A Newly cut key Should open the door for you ....Any Ford Dealer can read it but if oyu want to do it yourself there are instructions on the main site HERE When you do get in suggest you get a couple of spare keys and possibly a remote . Have you tried the boot lock with the key?
