My Scorpio 2.3L Ghia estate won't start. The lights work and the battery seems ok (it was replaced last year). Charging the battery has made no difference. There is a slight clicking when I first turn the key and for some unknown reason the radio turns itself on, but then everything goes dead. Any suggestions.

Do all the dials fick around & the trip computer reset when you try to start it ?....If so, then it would usually point toward a faulty battery  Smiley

Have you (a) got a battery cover fitted and (b) removed the large connector to the main, drivers side, fusebox?.

Many thanks for the suggestions, it was indeed a faulty battery - only 16 months old!! I've programmed in the radio but the trip computer won't go back to imperial despite repeated pressing of the S button. Any ideas?

After me bigging up my reliability (well the cars anyway!!) on this forum, the big old girl has decided not to start. Everything was fine last week, (MOT pass without an advisory!!) and running like a dream.
For some reason, she just won't play this morning, turns over and turns over but no fire in the hole!
Checked the plugs & no spark, fuses & relays all seem OK, battery was fine but I think is about to give up the ghost so she's hooked to a trickle at the moment.
I know it's not anything massive, and I'm sure someone out there will have the answer.....

Make sure the EDDIS module inside the front offside wing has not been knocked or disturbed.. thats what controls the spark generation before going to the coil pack .
