Headlight switch can go 'a bit temperamental' 
If yours has started to 'play up' it may be worth getting hold of a spare one for when it does decide to give up completely.
Be aware that there are 2 different types of headlight switch - depends if your Scorpio has front fog lights or not.
Switch for cars without front fog lights has a BLUE plastic outer, switch for cars with front foglights has BLACK plastic outer.

nice one cheers mike, i am going to get another switch as my lights have yet again, stopped working. i went out to check them just now. oh how sad that's made me now
