ABS and TC light on ?

Hi guys, have a little problem with my 1995 Scorpio. When i start, the lights for the ABS and TC comes on and then goes off, like i should. Then as soon as the car moves 10 feet, they come on again. But if i step hard on the brakes, or the throttle before they come on again, both systems works !!! What gives? I did check the wheel sensors, and they all had ca. 1038 ohms.

give the sensors and the rings a clean, try cleaning the connectors to the rear sensors too, they are under the rear seat

Hmmm no, i wouldnt remove them, you can clean them without removing them. You may have a wiring problem or a module fault

This sounds very similar to the problem identified and dealt with by Tompion some time ago. There is an 'issue' with the pins which connect the control module to its motor. The thought is that they vibrate, loosen the solder and thus there is no power to the ABS motor. A scan will indicate that the motor has failed BUT if you disconnect the two pin plug and apply power to the motor it runs. I have had this on my car and Tompion has confirmed that the pins needed re-soldering. I swapped the control unit and the problem has been solved. I checked all the wheel sensors for resistance and they were ok. I think that the reason the light comes on as you reach 5/10mph is simply because that is the 'cut in' speed for the ABS and the stage at which the motor would be required to operate. Similar principal to Cruise Control which needs 40mph before it will operate. The full text of Daves' report is Here.

Am i misunderstandig here, or does this mean: "intermittent ABS light staying on" (from Tompion's problem), that the ABS work now and then?
