sunroof drain holes

hi all,

i have recently had water coming through interior roof, also floors wet in rear footwell.
I had what i thought clean out 2 sunroof drains at front with curtain wire as suggested by user on here.

my question, are there rear holes there too and if so can they be accessed from open sunroof or do i need to strip out sunroof to access them.my s/roof opens only 3/4 way back to rear.
ps i have looked  through fault finder but ont see where to access rear holes, if any.

regards for any info

From memory of other Fords, the standard arrangement for draining the sunroof area is a plastic pipe about 20mm diameter at each corner of the sunroof 'pan' which is fitted under the roof panel.
The front drain pipes go down the screen 'A' pillars and drain into the sills  Shocked - which is probably why so many Fords with sunroofs have rotten sills  Sad
The rear drain pipes normally go down inside the rear pillars and out through a hole behind the rear wheelarches. If you can locate the end of the pipe you may be able to poke the curtain wire up it  Huh
To get to the place where the rear drain pipes join to the sunroof pan you would probably have to remove the headlining. Seems unlikely these would be blocked.
Your wet rear footwells are most likely due to water leaking past the door seals - I have had this once or twice after very heavy rain. My previous Granada Scorpio estate had the same problem but much worse - every time it rained.

Mick.
I think there are only two drains,as you will know, the pipes run down the screen pillars into the front of the sills  Roll Eyes.Any welding in that area burns the plastic pipes an effectively seals them.Best thing is an airline, and if they can't be blown through, suspect the former. At the death you can cut a hole about 3"x2" at the front of the underneath of the sill, pull the pipe out, chop it off and let it hang out of a grommet in the nice little plate you have made to fit over the hole  Smiley

scorpio man + gozz
I will give the door seals a good look, though i 'm sure they are in good nick.
I have cleaned out front drain holes, and will check behind rear wheels asap.
My sunroof seal isn't the best I've seen, so i might have to replace that. I am
going to have to replace s/roof motor after new year aslo.
 again thnx for info.

The easiest way I found to clear the drain holes Front and rears was to use a length of the flexible curtain wire with a plastic end fitted , it is just the correct diameter and with care will feed all the way through.
From the sunroof down,  not the other way .
Care is needed though as the pipes are nly plastic and may well have gone brittle with age ... bit like me !
