24v Fuel filler cover flap

Hi Apologies if this has been covered somewhere but.... Does anyone know a way of opening the exterior petrol filler flap if it's locked shut? I believe it's held shut by some sort of solenoid operated lock and I don't know if I can just force it open. If I do have to break the d**n thing off, how easy are they to replace Thanks for any help Tim

If you remove the trim inside the boot you can reach in and remove the whole locking mechanisim. Cant remember what way you turn it, anticlockwise i think, its only a quarter turn, bit difficult to get a grip on it though, you'll see the wires going into the back of it.

Thanks for the info - wrote the message in a hurry and left out one vital piece of info - I can't get into the boot at the moment - so it looks like I'll have to try and prise it out / snap it off - I have a replacement on a scrapper thanks - wrong d**n colour of course! Is yours dark blue by any chance? Cheers Tim

Can you get into the car?? fold the rear seat down, remove boot trim and open the boot... small children or slim women are good for this
