climat control reset

Hello Folks, can anybody advise pls? Got the procedure for the reset from this site. The first time, the display automaticly jumped from 00 to 51. Setting it with passenger tempcontrol did not work. Setting it back to 00 with recirc could be done, but jumped directly back to 51. After setting back to 00, than very quick push recirc and a/c , system came out of reset mode. After that, no matter what I do, I can not enter the reset mode anymore. When I start the car in the morning very cold (it's freezing) the climat control does do nothing on auto. But if I switch vent to Off, the blower going full speed, building up from low speed. In fact the same as auto position does do with a working system. On auto the system does seem to work, but very slowly. A/C is on all the time and the hot air gets combined with a/c after a while. Help would be very much appreciated

A '51' code means the same as a '01' code, it's just that for some reason it sometimes comes up with a 5 rather than a 0. The codes are near the bottom of this page....http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm If you can't enter the reset mode anymore then it may be that the panel is faulty Hope this helps

Sorry to butt in.. I've been trying to sort mine out, as it doesn't throw any hot air at me.. I've tried the reset method, but my LCD never changes no matter how long I hold those buttons down - should I assume that my panel is bust?

Thanks for the reply, folks. Code 01 means inside temp to high or to low. Than I would conclude, that you can not do the reset procedure when it is freezing outside,(and inside the car). This will let the system go bananas, cause the first time I could enter and after 51 not anymore. I will check futher and let you guys know what happens.

| hi there no, you've understood the code correctly. code 01/51 is referring to the internal temp sensor reading too high or too low. this has nothing to do with outside temperatures. when you perform the reset, the display will change from (50) to whatever code that was stored to show you what code it is attempting to reset. the instruction on the site aren't quite clear on this point. sometimes you need to repeat the reset procedure a few times to clear it of all errors. hth

I did mean, that since it freezing, also inside the car, the internal temp is outside his range, so till within range not resetable. After the first reset procedure,(which went wrong) I can not enter anymore, no matter what I try. (disconnect battery etc.) So like I said, I 'll keep on trying and keep you guys informed.

Changing relay 24 was not the solution. Hear about next possibility, which is the potentiometer from the blower in the cc unit. it seems to malfuction if you have it always on auto. Will check it out and keep ou informed.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if that clears the resetting issue.

Battery disconnect does not change anything. AC switched on at startup and can be switched of. Display shows set temp. AC also switches on when blower switch is put in Off position and blower starts. System really gone crazy. Still can not access reset mode.

Climat control get fixed today. Went yesterday and bought a used control unit and since I had to take it out myself, I took the ATC as well. They charged me € 60,- And wat do you know, replacing the CC panel did not help, but the ATC did. Entered the reset mode again and everything is working correctly now. Thanks everybody for the input.
